In July we delivered our services to the summer multi-genre festival Bažant Pohoda 2009.
The festival went down in history because of a tragedy caused by a collapsed tent. The tent fell in a windstorm combined with heavy downpours. It was in precisely such conditions that it became clear whether our company could stand its ground as a supplier even in such a critical situation.
For the festival we supplied a party tent measuring 10×20 m, with a wooden floor, carpet and seating. The backstage area and the storage were housed in tent shelters measuring 3×3 m. In addition, we supplied a pagoda measuring 5×5 m for the refreshment stand.
All of these tents were furnished with seating and tables and safely withstood the windstorm. This was also thanks to our people, who were on site at the festival the whole time and monitored the situation. In strong wind it is recommended to take the tarpaulin off the tent or close it tightly so that wind cannot get inside and lift it. We decided to strip the large tent, as it was impossible to predict how strong the storm would be after what had happened. We let the wind pass through the tent, pulling off the side walls and taking down part of the roof so that the wind had nothing to push against. Our tents also held because they had been anchored to the maximum from the initial assembly. For anchoring we used steel stakes driven deep into the ground. Stakes were placed at every leg of the tent so that it was held firmly enough.
Besides the tents and accessories, we also supplied fun attractions to the event: a maxi ski, a trigate and bungee running.
